Polestar 6 salary sacrifice

Polestar 6 is a planned electric roadster derived from the brand’s open-top concept. The programme has been delayed, and UK order opening, delivery dates, and prices remain unconfirmed. It is a future research option for a car benefit programme, with no verified quotation or production specification yet.

What is confirmed about the Polestar 6?

This page exists because the vehicle has a stable, attributable public identity before complete production and UK quote data are available. It does not imply that a UK salary sacrifice quotation is currently available.

Confirmed facts

These points are supported by attributable manufacturer or corporate source material.

Official model identity

Polestar’s UK website identifies the electric roadster concept as the basis for Polestar 6. The production car’s design and features remain subject to change.

Concept and production remain distinct

The UK page describes a two-door, 2+2 convertible concept with bonded-aluminium construction. This does not establish final production seating, dimensions, or equipment.

Retained in the product plan

Polestar’s 18 February 2026 strategy release continues to list the 6 roadster as a planned model, without assigning it a launch date.

Provisional information

Useful for early research, but deliberately kept out of hard P11D, WLTP, pricing and configurator filters until final production evidence is available.

Delayed programme

Car and Driver reported in September 2025 that Polestar was prioritising the 7 and the next 2 while retaining plans for the 6. A replacement UK launch date has not been confirmed; reported dates should not be treated as delivery commitments.

Final specification pending

Earlier concept features and performance targets are not an orderable UK specification. We withhold numerical performance, range, battery, and charging comparisons until production evidence is available.

Development progress

In a 19 May 2026 Edmunds interview, Polestar’s product communications lead described shared hardware with the 5 and remaining roof and rear-seat development. These programme details do not confirm a finished UK specification or imminent deliveries.

What is not confirmed yet?

  • UK order opening, production start, first deliveries, and allocation
  • UK list and on-the-road prices, P11D values, and provider rentals
  • Final production seats, dimensions, luggage capacity, and roof mechanism
  • Gross and usable battery capacity, certified range, and charging times with conditions
  • Final motor output, drivetrain, acceleration, and top speed
  • UK equipment grades, paint, upholstery, wheels, options, and model-specific warranty

How should you use this information?

Keep announced-vehicle research separate from an orderable employer quote.

Keep replacement dates independent

If an employee’s lease ends before a firm delivery date is available, compare an available car or an agreed extension. An expression of interest does not secure a production slot.

Check the convertible’s everyday fit

Assess rear-seat access, luggage space with the roof open and closed, and cabin comfort in the production car. A 2+2 concept layout does not establish suitability for regular adult passengers.

Confirm provider acceptance

Ask the appointed provider to confirm that the exact production version can be supplied and insured within the employer’s scheme. Check servicing, replacement transport, and early-termination terms alongside the rental.

Use a dated quotation

A reliable monthly-cost comparison needs verified UK vehicle values and an employer-approved provider quotation. We help employers assess those terms when available; concept targets and overseas price estimates are insufficient.

Important information and sources

Reviewed 8 September 2026. Announced launch timing, preliminary specification, homologation, availability and pricing can change. Manufacturer targets and press reports remain attributed and are not promoted into quote-ready configuration data.

General information only, not tax, financial or legal advice. A salary sacrifice comparison requires a confirmed UK production car, a verified P11D value and a dated employer or provider illustration.
