EV salary sacrifice car calculator UK

Estimate the effect of a quoted gross salary sacrifice on take-home pay, including employee National Insurance and the current 4% electric-car BIK rate.

Estimate the net cost shown in an EV salary sacrifice quote

Enter your gross annual salary, the gross monthly salary reduction shown in the illustration and the car’s P11D value. The calculator estimates the change in take-home pay and adds the electric-car BIK tax.

Compare the result with the full package, not only a headline lease payment. Salary sacrifice offers commonly include servicing, tyres, roadside assistance, insurance and early termination protection, but inclusions and employer contributions vary.

What goes in

What comes out

Method and limitations

The estimate compares take-home pay before and after the gross sacrifice, then adds P11D value × 4% EV BIK rate × estimated headline Income Tax rate ÷ 12.

It uses 2026/27 Income Tax and employee Class 1 National Insurance assumptions. It does not reproduce PAYE payroll software or account for tax-code adjustments, pensions, student loans, benefits, minimum-wage constraints or every individual circumstance.

Source assumptions: HMRC 2026/27 rates and thresholds and company-car appropriate percentages.

For employers, the employee illustration is only one control

An employer review should also test the provider contract, employment addendum, payroll process, policy, early termination protection, vehicle and discount terms, governance and employee communications. The calculator can help identify illustrations that need closer review, but it is not a programme audit.
