Volkswagen ID. Tiguan salary sacrifice

Volkswagen has fully revealed the ID. Tiguan as the electric successor to the ID.4 and ID.5. The European line-up has three powertrains with 58 kWh or 77 kWh batteries and launches in early 2027. Volkswagen UK confirms an early-2027 arrival but currently publishes no UK price or order journey; European pre-sales and German pricing do not establish UK availability.

Explore the announced car, its expected arrival, and the details still to be confirmed. Ask your employer’s provider about a quotation when UK pricing and ordering are available.

Confirmed facts

These points are supported by attributable manufacturer or corporate source material.

Official identity and UK arrival window

Volkswagen UK presents the ID. Tiguan as an all-electric model due to arrive in the UK at the beginning of 2027. The current UK page does not provide an order journey, UK price or final UK specification.

Successor to ID.4 and ID.5

Volkswagen identifies ID. Tiguan as the successor to both electric models, sold alongside the combustion and hybrid Tiguan. Existing ID.4 and ID.5 vehicles remain distinct cars; their specifications do not describe the new model.

Revealed European powertrain line-up

Volkswagen's 9 October reveal lists three European performance levels: 140 kW rear-wheel drive with a 58 kWh battery, 210 kW rear-wheel drive with a 77 kWh battery, and 220 kW 4MOTION all-wheel drive with a 77 kWh battery. These figures are not yet verified as final UK order specifications.

European practicality figures

Volkswagen publishes towing capacity up to 1,800 kg with the 58 kWh battery and up to 2,000 kg with the 77 kWh battery, plus a 32-litre frunk and luggage capacity up to 534 litres. The applicable UK derivatives and equipment remain unconfirmed.

Provisional information

Manufacturer targets and early specifications may change. Check the final UK version before comparing costs or capability.

Range and charging remain version-specific

Volkswagen states that WLTP range reaches up to 600 km depending on power and battery size. Final homologated UK derivative ranges, charging rates and test conditions have not been published by Volkswagen UK, so the European maximum must not be applied to every version.

European grades, pricing and orders are not UK evidence

Volkswagen lists Trend, Life, Style and R-Line for Europe and starts pre-sales in Germany and many other European countries on 13 October from €42,695. These market-specific details do not establish the UK grade range, UK ordering or a UK price.

Independent UK launch reporting

Auto Express expects a UK arrival in early 2027 and reports Life, Style and R-Line for the UK. Treat this as independent reporting until Volkswagen UK publishes the final local range and order data.

What is not confirmed yet?

  • Exact UK order opening, production allocation, and first customer deliveries
  • UK list and on-the-road prices, P11D values, insurance groups, and employer-provider quotations
  • Final UK grades, powertrains, gross and usable battery capacities, certified WLTP range, charging rates, and charging conditions
  • Final UK dimensions, luggage capacity, payload, and derivative-specific towing limits
  • UK paint, upholstery, wheels, options, warranty, and servicing terms

How should you use this information?

Consider your replacement date, everyday journeys, and the choices your employer’s programme supports.

Keep predecessor quotations separate

Check whether a quotation names ID.4, ID.5, or ID. Tiguan. A discounted existing car can be a different proposition from waiting for the successor; compare the actual car, equipment, and delivery commitment.

Plan around your replacement date

An early-2027 European introduction does not guarantee a UK car for a lease expiry. Ask your provider about an available alternative or extension until an allocation is confirmed.

Choose a version for your journeys

Once UK specifications arrive, compare the selected battery and drivetrain against winter motorway use, home charging, and towing needs. Do not combine the longest range with the highest towing or performance figure from another version.

Compare the complete car benefit quotation

We can help employers assess the selected UK car, verified P11D value, provider pricing, insurance, maintenance, mileage, and contract terms when those details become available.
