Audi has confirmed the electric A4 programme
Audi CTO Rouven Mohr discussed the A4 e-tron directly in June 2026 and said there was no need to correct the then-reported 2028 timing. He described the A4 as an important volume car intended to present Audi's next design and technology direction.
SSP is the planned architecture
Mohr told GoAuto that Audi is developing the A4 e-tron around the Volkswagen Group's SSP architecture, including a new zonal electronic architecture. Final production hardware and UK homologation data have not been published.
There is no current Audi UK A4 e-tron listing
Audi UK's current model catalogue lists models including the A2 e-tron and A6 e-tron, but no A4 or A4 e-tron. This means a global development programme should not be presented as a current UK order or delivery offer.
